Our expectations of you and policies that help shape our travels
Booking, paymenT, CANCELLATIons & Refunds
• A non-refundable deposit is required at the time of booking to secure your spot.
• Note: Deposits are fully transferrable to another trip if you notify us at least 91 days prior to departure.
• Full payment is due by the specified deadline prior to the trip departure.
• Failure to pay in full by the deadline may result in cancellation of your booking (with no deposit refund)
CANCELLATIONS & REFUNDSAll cancellations must be submitted in writing. (bhamtravelgirl@gmail.com) • Deposits are non-refundable. • Note: Deposits are fully transferrable to another trip if you notify us at least 91 days prior to departure. • Refunds (excluding deposits – see above note) may be available on a sliding scale depending on how far in advance the cancellation is made: • Cancellation 91 days or more before the trip departure date: 100% refund minus the deposit • Cancellation 61–90 days before the trip departure date: 50% refund minus the deposit • Cancellation 0–60 days before the trip departure date: no refund (unless the space can be filled, then a 60% refund will be made). • No refunds will be issued for any unused portion of a trip once it has commenced.
TRIP CHANGES & CANCELATIONS• We reserve the right to cancel or modify any trip due to unforeseen circumstances, including but not limited to natural disasters, political unrest, insufficient enrollment, or other events beyond our control. • In such cases, you will be offered the choice of a credit, transfer to another trip, or full refund (excluding any third-party costs).
LIABILITY WAIVER
• Participation in a Travel with Mel trip is at your own risk. • Travel with Mel and its representatives are not liable for any injury, loss, damage, accident, delay, or expense arising from travel. Travel Insurance • Travel insurance is strongly recommended and may be required for certain trips. • It is your responsibility to obtain adequate coverage for trip cancellation, medical emergencies, and personal belongings.

Safety
• By booking a trip, you affirm that you are physically fit to participate in all scheduled activities. Physicality and details of fitness level is outlined in each trip.
• You are responsible for disclosing any medical conditions that may affect your participation.
• We reserve the right to decline participation or remove anyone whose behavior and/or physical ability jeopardizes the group’s safety or well-being.

• Discriminatory, disruptive, demeaning, or unsafe behavior will not be tolerated and may result in removal from the trip without refund.
Becaue we focus on fair trade values when dealing with artisans and local merchants, excessive haggling and demands from merchants WILL NOT BE TOLERATED. Mild bargaining is expected in some cases but treating this aspect like a competitive sport is not acceptable.

MEDIA RELEASE
• By joining a trip, you grant Travel with Mel the right to use photographs, videos, or testimonials taken during the trip for promotional purposes unless you request otherwise in writing.

• These terms are governed by the laws of the state of Alabama
